Review data

When you start and use a review, Proto Review may store the review name, reviewer name, comment text and type, comment status, page URL and title, click coordinates, viewport and scroll position, timestamps, and a screenshot of the visible portion of the page.

Review data is used only to show pins and comments on reviewed pages, organize the review sidebar, create a FigJam-compatible clipboard payload at your request, and create a PDF review deck at your request.

Trial and licensing data

Proto Review stores a review identifier, the number of free reviews used, paid-access status, and verification timestamps in browser extension storage. A free review is counted when its first comment is saved.

Proto Review includes the packaged ExtensionPay library to manage the paid unlock. When you open checkout or purchase restoration, ExtensionPay creates or uses an installation-specific licensing key and may process the extension identifier, installation type, licensing status, and the email address you provide. Stripe processes payment and billing information on its hosted checkout. Proto Review does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

ExtensionPay and Stripe handle this information under their own privacy policies. No review URL, screenshot, reviewer name, review name, or comment is included in Proto Review's licensing requests.

Storage and retention

Review data, the privacy-consent record, and the trial meter are stored locally in your Chrome extension profile using chrome.storage.local. ExtensionPay may also use Chrome extension storage to preserve its installation key and paid-access record.

Review data remains until you delete individual comments, delete or replace the current review, clear the extension's browser data, or uninstall the extension. Payment records are retained by ExtensionPay and Stripe according to their policies and applicable legal requirements.

Sharing and exports

Proto Review does not sell review data, use it for advertising, or share it automatically. Review data leaves local extension storage only through an action you initiate: copying the review payload to the clipboard for use with the separate FigJam importer, or saving a PDF file. Your handling of those exports, and the practices of any destination service you choose, are outside Proto Review.

Proto Review does not include review-content analytics or browsing telemetry.

Permissions

Proto Review requests access to webpages so it can display its annotation interface and capture the visible page after you enter comment mode and click. It also uses local storage, downloads, clipboard writing, packaged script injection, and navigation events to provide the features described above. All executable code, including ExtPay.js, is packaged with the extension; no remote executable code is loaded.

Your choices

You must consent to the disclosed local storage and licensing practices before starting a review. You can end a review without deleting it, delete individual comments, delete or replace the current review, or remove the extension and its locally stored data from Chrome. Paid customers can restore access using the email address used for purchase.

Limited Use

Proto Review's use of information obtained through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Chrome API data is used only to provide webpage review and user-initiated export; it is not used for payment profiling or advertising.

Changes to this policy

If Proto Review's data practices change, the extension will present an updated disclosure and request consent again before handling data under the new practices.
